Whimsical, quaint, cute, cosy, quirky, nostalgic and charming are all words associated with Cottage Core Interiors. Farmcore and Countrycore point towards Cottagecore also.
When thinking of Cottagecore we also feel a connection to other design trends like Nordic or Japandi, it can be a mixture of everything you love, old and new.
Here at Cottage Interiors NI, we like a bit of vintage and upcycled style thrown in with our cottage style. But, ultimately, cottage core is more than a look, how we decorate and furnish our homes, its also about the feels! Its about our way of life.
We cant all live in a beautiful thatched cottage in the country, but we have visions of that dreamy and romanticized way of life. Simplicity, connection to nature, stunning scenery. A self sufficient and sustainable lifestyle, a slower pace and homemade goods. That's what we all want right?
The reality however can be very different for a lot of us. Working the 9-5, living in a city or town. New builds and semi detached houses, shops within 5 minutes and prepacked/ready made food after we finish a busy day at work. Well sure...of course, we have bills to pay, a need to earn a living and keep the roof over our heads, thatched or not!!! So we create our own little slice of heaven reminiscent of a rural cottage and country lifestyle. We can have it all!!
We love to pair florals and gingham together at Cottage Interiors NI. We are NOT fans of minimalist interiors, we don't favour straight lines and polished surfaces, rather, we are more inclined to fill our homes with quilts and throws, maybe even mismatched ones, flowers and plants, neutral earthy tones, vintage and recycled pieces along with a mix of natural and painted wooden furniture and warm fabrics.
Cottage Interiors NI is a reflection of what we love, how we live and the dreams we have. We hope that you enjoy our store and follow your style dreams too.
